The Gym

Forza is an all inclusive Fitness and Wellness Center, offering a full range of membership programs, classes, and lifestyle coaching. Each member is given the personal attention that they deserve, insuring that they are able to meet their desired fitness goals.

Offering state-of-the-art equipment from LifeFitness, Paramount, and Cybex, the cardio area of Forza has the tools to meet the diverse needs of each member. On your own, or with the guidance of one of our Personal Trainers, this is a commitment that will make you look and feel better!"

We offer a variety of membership programs to suit each person's needs.  Please contact us to meet with a Forza membership representative and discuss our current programs.

Pilates

~ Class Not Currently Offered ~

Also known as medicine for the spine!
In the 1920's Joseph Pilates developed a system of exercises that focus on core strength and spine flexibility. These exercises create long,lean muscles. The client follows a prescribed system of exercises designed to progress in a seamless fashion advancing from one movement to another. The desired result is an energized, pain free and strong body. From this new or refreshed core connection,clients completely change their bodies and rid themselves of their chronic weaknesses.

About our Instructor Sheila: Sheila is a Yoga Alliance certified teacher who has taken over 300 hours of instruction through the Yoga of Energy Flow and Rasamaya Yoga Schools.She is also certified by the prestigious Power Pilates Institute in NYC in both Pilates mat and apparatus.

Sheila has been teaching Pilates and Yoga for 5 years. She loves the way the two practices complement each other and enjoys bringing the joy of Pilates and Yoga to new students.
 

Hatha Yoga

Wednesday, 7pm

Hatha is an umbrella term for all the different styles of yoga.
 These classes are a mixture of styles and techniques.Class is taught in a multi-level format with variations being offered on most postures.There is focus on stretching,breathing and relaxation. These classes weave various asanas (postures) such as sun salutations,standing poses,twists and seated postures into the flow. Class always ends with savasana ( deep relaxation). These classes are appropriate for beginners and all practitioners.The small class size ensures that you will receive individual attention.You will leave feeling the body expanded and the mind grounded.
 
Though the term hatha actually encompasses any of yoga's physical practices, in recent years it has been used to designate classes that are slow paced and offer a good introduction to yoga postures.

If you see a class described as Hatha, it will likely be a slow-paced stretching class with some simple breathing exercises and perhaps seated meditation. This is a good place to learn basic poses, relaxation techniques, and become comfortable with yoga.

RASAMAYA™ YOGA I

Saturday, 9:30am (Becky)

RASAMAYA™ YOGA I is perfect for the practitioner looking for a gentle flowing yoga class. After opening the mind, the body is invited to journey into the same expansion as we find our way into a soft asana flow, moving from spine and hip warming exercises, into gentle sun salutes blended with some additional asanas that benefit our body and open our chakras (energy centers). Class will finish with yin posture work and a seated meditation before moving into deep relaxation and savasana. Appropriate for all practitioners, especially those seeking a gentler practice.

About our Instructors Amahl and Becky: Becky is a certified teacher of the Rasamaya™ method of movement. She completed her 200-hour Rasamaya™ yoga teacher training at Dover Yoga with Carrie Tyler in 2010. Becky believes strongly in the power of movement to heal and nourish the body, mind and spirit, and feels that yoga is the ultimate way to integrate all three.  Amahl began practicing yoga in high-school as part of her track and field fitness regimen. Eight years later, she received her 200 HR RYT certification in the Rasamaya Method of Movement through the yoga teacher-training program at Dover Yoga & Pilates. There she has had the pleasure of studying directly under Carrie Tyler, founder of the Rasamaya method. Amahl is thankful to have the opportunity to share this practice with our community. Join her for yoga and yogalates to stretch and strengthen your body and mind.

 

Yogalates

Tuesday, 6:30pm

Yogalates is fusion of the ancient discipline of yoga with modern Pilates techniques. This class is perfect for the practitioner seeking both the core-strengthening benefits of Pilates and the stress-relieving benefits of Yoga. Yogalates balances both disciplines resulting in a class that helps practitioners to: develop core strength, tone muscles, increase flexibility, reduce stress and restore energy. Class is appropriate for all levels.

Zumba

Tuesday, 3:30pm

Zumba fuses Latin/International dance rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a fitness program that will blow you away!  The routines combine fast and slow rhythms and resistance training to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.  The goal is simple: we want you to love working out and achieve long-term benefits while experiencing a fun hour of calorie-burning, energizing movements.

About our Instructor, Elke: Elke recently joined the growing Zumba "Movement", after three decades of moving and dancing in her pursuit of rhythmic gymnastics, ballet, jazz and yoga.  She received her Zumba certification this spring and wants to bring this invigorating, joyful exercise to women and men of all ages. Learn basic Latin steps and feel the rhythm!  You will smile while you are exercising!
